Strongest Indica… This indica strain takes pride of place in our collection because it is the seed that put Paradise Seeds on the map when it completed an epic champions league double - taking the High Life and High Times Cups in the same year.

Named ‘one of the world’s finest cannabis strains’ by cannabiscupwinners.com. Sensi Star has achieved over 15 cups in major competitions and is as popular now as it was in 1995 when we first released it.

  • The precise genetics of Sensi Star cannabis seeds are a closely guarded secret – a little bit like the recipe for the world’s favourite fizzy drink.

Nevertheless the genetic code includes Afghan and Indian elements along with some Skunk in this distinctive smelling and tasting plant. Its famed potency has produced genetic offspring around the world, won the hearts of cannabis growers and made this plant a cannabis Hall of Fame legend.

  • The aroma generated by a Sensi Star plant is unique and one that almost defies description.

In the grow room it is pronounced – strong but also fresh with mint, metal and shades of pine, pepper and perfume – and its terpene profile is dominated by Myrcene, Limonene and Carophyllene.

Once dried this uniqueness extends to the flavour with a combination so complex it will turn the taste buds dizzy.

  • Difficulty Level: Easy - Medium

Indoors: Small, stout and bushy, this plant is good for all grow rooms, allowing the gardener to maximize use of space, performing just as well in soil or hydro (8 - 9 weeks flower time).

The variety is bred to work well as a multi branch and is an exceptional performer in Sea Of Green and Screen Of Green (SOG and SCROG) set ups, where the side branches of these short and thick plants contribute to excellent harvest yields.

Outdoors: Outside too, the Sensi Star proves its outstanding heritage with a tendency to grow fat and beautiful bushes that sprout from the ground like new stars exploding in some distant galaxy.

With a lot of sun, this plant will produce many, many buds, and for this reason it is a big favorite down south and in regions with a Mediterranean climate.

Not the greatest recommendation for northern regions, although we have seen some fine specimens from temperate gardens.

  • A very impressive plant, with Sensi Star growers can expect a well formed plant with colas that are rock hard and coated with so much resin they literally glow in the dark with crystals.

Indoor Yield: 400 g per m²
Outdoor Yield: 600 g per plant

  • Recreational: The sheer power of Sensi Star is felt in the body and also in the mind. An absolute powerhouse that will knock you sideways and into the couch so not one for the novice consumer.

Medical: Sensi Star has renowned medical qualities and over the years has picked up a reputation as a stress buster as well as a plant with analgesic qualities which chronic pain sufferers welcome.

  • Suitable for outside growing between 50º n.L. and 50º s.L., Sensi Star cannabis seeds produce plants that will finish in early October outdoors (n.L.), and in 8 -9 weeks indoors. Estimated yield is 400 g per m² indoors / 600 g per plant outdoors.

Super Indica Champion

The legendary Paradise Seeds strain Sensi Star has left a lasting impression on the cannabis world since it gained worldwide popularity in 1999 by winning the High Times and Highlife Cups in the same year. Many awards have followed in the years since and this Paradise variety has parented many spin offs in its time.

It is a highly potent Indica with a distinctive growth pattern and a dynamic personality, illustrated by its dense and frosty buds and a unique spicy/minty flavor which sets it aside from other plants. Its indoor flowering time is 8-9 weeks indoors and will finish in early October outdoors with an estimated yield of 400g per m² indoors / 600g per plant outdoors. Sensi Star is a modern classic, so time to see what this strain can do in the grow room…

Mr. Power Planter germinated five Sensi Star seeds in small peat pots filled with seedling soil. and were raised under 18 hours of daily light (600 W HPS Osram Planta-T) in the vegetative stage. One week after germination, the plants were transplanted to six litre pots with ready-made soil mixture.

Mr. Power Planter knew that Sensi Star doesn’t like high levels of nutrients and therefore restricted the EC to a maximum of 1.6-1.8 mS. The plants grew very homogeneously: When flowering was induced 24 days after germination by reducing the light regimen to 12 hours, the difference in height of the shortest and tallest plant amounted to merely 13 cm, with most of the plants having more or less the same height, between 40 and 53 cm. They exhibited indica-typical dark green leaves and moderate side-branching.

Flowering Stage

Flowering proceeded very well: As early as in the fifth week of blooming, the plants already appeared white with resin, definitely asserting Sensi Star`s reputation as the “white strain”. Another three weeks later, the buds were frosted all-over, also the flower leafs were completely coated with rich amounts of resin glands.

The flower structure and calyx-to-leaf ratio of the five plants was either identical or very similar, looking indica-like, but with hairy clusters and easily cuttable short indica flower leafs. And also in terms of density, the buds could convince Mr. Power Planter, being very solid and quite broad.

Their scent was quite unusual and corresponded to what breeder Luc says about his Sensi Star: “Her bouquet is strong and somehow fresh like mint, metal and oxygen combined, crazy, hard to explain.”
The plants turned out to be highly homogeneous, measuring 60, 66, 68, 72 and 74 cm in the end and matured within the 56-63 days span stated by Paradise Seeds.

Harvest Yield

When the buds had been dried, single plant yields turned out to be between 20 and 31 grams, what can be considered a good harvest from seed, especially in relation to the fairly small size of the plants.

Smell and Smoke Report

When it came to smoking, the Sensi Star buds could keep the promise of their look, delivering a strong body sensation, but also a certain degree of energetic cerebral effects, thanks to the slight sativa influence.

Smoked in a bong, these Sensi Star buds were a one-hitter that would last for hours, pretty damn strong stuff, presumably with a THC content of 16-20%, as measured in different Sensi Star THC tests in the past. The taste was complex, even sweeter than expected and quite mild, with minty and metallic undertones, highly enjoyable.

Verdict

Without a doubt, Sensi Star is as mighty as ever, maybe even stronger than ever, and an excellent champion variety to grow from seed.

Out of three as the seeds are rather pale and older looking.

I cannot comment on germination and this is on appearance only.

A grower in Canada says that a light scratching with emery paper, a good soak in carbonated water for 12 hrs and possibly the use of an auxin related hormone can revive older seeds from dormancy.

The packaging is excellent as was delivery. Particularly good is the QR code that takes the customer straight to the site and cultivar for reference.

Out of 8 seeds only 5 germinated and , like with Durga Mata , developped big leaves , covering everything growing below them ,preventing the plant to develope
properly .Before I had California Gold which had none of these problems !

VERY potent, one of my favourite strains for the relaxed and very cheerful state of mind. Just a word of caution for beginners though, this beauty is strong!! It also grows very tall if you are a novice like me and are still scared about pruining your plants. I swear, I'm going to try it this time around. I love this plant! One of the best I've ever tried and that includes when I lived in California and Oregon.
